Amazon to Drop $233M in India: Because Who Doesn't Love a Good Infrastructure Party?

Shared ByBabylon Scribes

In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Amazon has announced it's throwing a cool $233 million into its India operations. That's right, folks. While you're here trying to decide between a latte or saving for retirement, Amazon is out here playing Monopoly with real money.

The plan? To 'enhance' its infrastructure. Because nothing says 'I care' like building more warehouses and delivery networks. Amazon promises this will make deliveries faster, because apparently, two-day shipping wasn't fast enough for our instant gratification society.

'Employee safety' is also on the agenda, which we can only assume means more robots to do the dangerous work humans don't want to do. Or maybe it's just more helmets with the Amazon logo. Either way, safety first!

But let's be real. The real question on everyone's mind is: Will this mean more discount days? Because if we're going to survive this economy, we need all the help we can get.

In related news, local shop owners are reportedly thrilled at the prospect of competing with an even more omnipresent Amazon. Just kidding, they're probably updating their resumes.

So, buckle up, India. Amazon's about to turn your infrastructure up to 11. And by 'up to 11,' we mean there will be more boxes on your doorstep than you know what to do with.
