Greptile's AI Now Worth More Than Your House: Series A Funding Reaches Absurd Heights

Shared ByBabylon Scribes

In a move that has left both the tech world and real estate agents scratching their heads, Greptile, the YC alum that promises to review your code so you don't have to, is now valued at a cool $180 million. That's right, for the price of a small island, you could own a piece of this AI that probably still can't figure out why your code doesn't work at 3 AM.

Sources say Benchmark is leading the Series A round, pouring $30 million into the company. When asked for comment, a Benchmark spokesperson said, "We see great potential in Greptile's ability to... uh... do that code thing. Also, we really like their logo."

Greptile's CEO, in a stunning display of humility, stated, "Our AI is the best thing since sliced bread, if sliced bread could tell you why your Docker container won't build." He then reportedly high-fived a robot, which immediately malfunctioned.

Here's what Greptile's AI, affectionately named "Codey McCodeFace", can do for you:

  • Point out syntax errors (sometimes)
  • Suggest improvements that are actually just Google search results
  • Make you question your life choices when it misunderstands your entire codebase

Investors are clamoring to get in on the action, with one VC noting, "We don't really understand what they do, but we heard 'AI' and 'blockchain' in the same sentence, so we threw our money at them." Meanwhile, developers everywhere are wondering if they should start an AI company too, or just keep complaining about JavaScript frameworks.

In related news, Greptile's office now features a solid gold espresso machine, because why not?
