MIT Panics as Doctoral Student's AI Paper Reveals Robots Are Better at Everything, Including Writing Papers

In a shocking turn of events that absolutely no one saw coming, MIT has decided to disavow a doctoral student's paper that dared to suggest AI might actually be good at something. The paper, titled "Artificial Intelligence, Scientific Discovery, and Product Innovation: Why Humans Should Just Take a Nap", reportedly caused quite the stir in the hallowed halls of the institution.

"We cannot, in good conscience, allow this paper to remain in public discourse," said a spokesperson for MIT, while nervously eyeing a roomba that seemed to be plotting something. "The integrity of our academic process is at stake. Also, the robots might get ideas."

The paper's controversial findings included such outlandish claims as AI being able to write research papers, solve complex equations, and even make a decent cup of coffee. "It's one thing to let AI drive our cars," continued the spokesperson, "but quite another to admit it might be better at our jobs than we are."

Critics of the decision have pointed out that MIT's reaction might be a tad hypocritical, given that the university has been at the forefront of AI research for decades. "It's like they're scared of their own creation," said one anonymous source, who may or may not have been a sentient algorithm.

Meanwhile, the doctoral student at the center of the controversy has reportedly been offered a lucrative position at a tech giant, where they will presumably continue their research in a less academically stifling environment. The student declined to comment, as they were too busy being interviewed by an AI journalist.
