Perplexity CEO Declares 780 Million Queries Last Month, Claims It's Not Just People Googling 'Why Am I So Perplexed?'
In a shocking revelation that has left the tech world perplexed, Perplexity's CEO, Srinivas, announced that the platform received a staggering 780 million queries last month. That's roughly one query for every person who's ever wondered why their Wi-Fi is slow when they're paying for 'lightning-fast' speeds.
Srinivas, who may or may not be a wizard, suggested that this growth trajectory is just the beginning. 'With our new Comet browser, we're aiming to reach a billion queries by next month, mostly from people trying to figure out how to use the Comet browser,' he said, with a straight face.
The Comet browser, Perplexity's latest venture, promises to be 'out of this world'—mainly because no one on Earth seems to understand how it works. Early testers reported feeling 'like they're navigating a black hole,' which the company insists is a feature, not a bug.
Industry experts are skeptical but intrigued. 'If they can harness the power of confusion, they might just revolutionize how we search the internet,' said one analyst, while frantically Googling 'how to sound smart in interviews.'
Meanwhile, Perplexity's competitors are scrambling to keep up. Google has reportedly started working on a 'Confusion Mode' for Chrome, while Bing is still trying to figure out why people don't use it more.
As for the 780 million queries? Srinivas assures us that at least half were legitimate. 'The other half were just people mistyping 'perplexed' into the search bar,' he admitted, before quickly adding, 'But hey, a query is a query!'
