Apple's WWDC 2025: A Symphony of Praise Amidst AI Disappointments and App Store Skirmishes
In a move that shocked absolutely no one, Apple took to the stage at WWDC 2025 to serenade developers with a heartfelt ballad of appreciation. The tech giant, known for its innovative use of buzzwords, promised a future so bright, developers would need sunglasses. Unfortunately, the sunglasses were not included in the keynote.
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the unveiling of Apple's new AI features, or as they're now calling it, "Almost Intelligence". "We're pushing the boundaries of what's possible," said CEO Tim Cook, while demonstrating an AI that could almost recognize a cat, almost write a poem, and almost solve world hunger. Almost.
Developers were treated to a breathtaking demo of the new App Store policies, which now include a "Developer Appreciation Fee" – a small, nominal charge of 99% of your app's revenue. "It's our way of saying thank you," explained Cook, as the audience checked their wallets in horror.
In a surprising twist, Apple announced their new "Innovation" department, tasked with coming up with ideas that other companies already have. "We're excited to introduce features that have been available on Android for years," said the head of the department, to a mix of applause and confused silence.
The event concluded with a performance by Apple's in-house band, The Buffering Spinners, who played a rendition of "Here Comes the Sun" on devices that were, ironically, updating. As the crowd dispersed, many were left wondering if they had witnessed a tech keynote or an elaborate parody. Only time will tell.
