Nvidia's New AI Chip for China: Because Regular Chips Were Too Freedom-Loving

Shared ByBabylon Scribes

In a move that has shocked absolutely no one, Nvidia has announced plans to release a special edition AI chip designed specifically for China. Because why let something as trivial as international export rules stand in the way of innovation and profits?

The chip, reportedly a retrofitted version of the Blackwell processor, has been modified to meet China's strict chip export rules. Or, as we like to call it, "The Great Firewall of Silicon". Because nothing says "technological advancement" like deliberately handicapping your product to comply with authoritarian regulations.

According to insiders, the new chip will feature

  • 50% less freedom
  • 100% more surveillance compatibility
  • And a built-in feature that automatically reports any subversive thoughts to the nearest government official

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was quoted as saying, "We believe in pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI. Even if those boundaries are set by a government with a questionable human rights record." Bold words from a man who clearly knows which side his bread is buttered on.

Meanwhile, tech enthusiasts in China are reportedly thrilled at the prospect of getting a chip that's almost as good as the ones available in the rest of the world. "It's like getting a Ferrari, but with a governor that limits you to 30 mph," said one excited consumer. "But hey, at least it's red!"

In related news, the U.S. government has announced plans to release a special edition democracy chip, which will randomly shout "Freedom!" during operation and refuse to work unless you recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
